💬 Frequently Asked Questions
- Why do I need to add printer paper?
Our premium glassine paper is incredibly smooth and acid-free, which keeps your delicate flower petals from sticking, tearing, or getting textured lines. However, glassine does not absorb water. Adding a couple of sheets of standard printer paper directly behind the glassine acts as a sponge, pulling the moisture away from the flower and into the cardboard vents so your blooms dry perfectly without molding.
- Can I use newspaper or book pages instead?
We recommend plain, unprinted printer paper or blank scrap paper. The ink from newspapers or old book pages can sometimes bleed under pressure, potentially staining your beautiful glassine sheets or the flower petals themselves.
- How many flowers can I press at once?
You can press as many flowers as will comfortably fit flat on a single glassine sheet without overlapping! If you want to press larger batches at once, you can easily expand your press by adding more layers of your own cardboard, printer paper, and glassine sheets.
- How long does it take for flowers to dry?
Most flat flowers and leaves take about 2 to 3 weeks to dry completely. For thicker blooms (like roses or carnations), we recommend opening the press after 48 hours to swap out the damp printer paper for a fresh, dry sheet to speed up the process!
